Our Tile & Grout Cleaning Procedure
Pre-Inspection

We’ll do a thorough walk-thru of all the tiled area that you’re getting cleaned and asses soil conditions and any areas of concern. We’ll also discuss any concerns that you may have and we’ll try to address them before the cleaning or during the cleaning.

Apply Pre-Conditioner

With our high-tech pre-sprayer tool, we’ll apply a pre-conditioner that is tailored to your grout’s soil level.

Grout Scrubbing

We’ll then scrub all of the grouted surfaces using our grout scrubbing tool. We’ll use this step to dislodge the soil that’s been trapped in the grout.

High Pressure & Heat Extraction

We’ll then use our strong, cutting-edge truck-mounted cleaning equipment, such as our rotary power tile cleaning tool, which uses high pressure and high heat to loosen imbedded soil in your grout.

Drying

Following the hot water extraction step, air movers will be placed over the freshly cleaned surfaces to guarantee proper drying.

Apply Sealer (If Applicable)

Following proper drying, you can request that your tile and grout be sealed as an add-on service after the cleaning. The sealant will help to keep soil from seeping deep into the grout by sealing it up.

Post Cleaning Inspection

We’ll then do a final walk-thru of all the areas that were cleaned and point out the cleaning results. We’ll also ensure that you are satisfied with the cleaning results.

Frequently Asked Questions About Tile & Grout Cleaning

We commonly recommend having your tile and grout sealed after having it cleaned with us, due to the high foot traffic that tiled floors receive. After the cleaning procedure, we offer tile and grout sealing as an add-on service to preserve the tiled floors from soil adhering to the grout. Because grout is porous, soil adheres to it rapidly and accumulates on it. The sealant prevents soil from penetrating the porous surface deeply.

Using store-bought floor finishers or waxes is not recommended. Store-bought products frequently leave behind waxes, films, and other residues that accumulate over time, making your tiles appear dull and cracked. Because many tiles are not porous, these products will just accumulate on the surface and never penetrate the tile. After years of using these chemicals on your tiles, the layers of wax or films will have built up to the point that they will require powerful strippers and other emulsifiers to remove. Only sealing is recommended, and we also offer it as an add-on service.

Unfortunately, we do not move any sort of furniture. We ask prior to the appointment that all the areas that are getting serviced be clear of any furniture. If you cannot clear the furniture, that’s fine. We’ll work around the furniture.

We often get inquiries about this question. We do not steam clean the tile and grout. However, we use a method that is called hot water extraction, which is commonly referred to as steam cleaning, because of the steam being emitted from our rotary cleaning tool.

Fortunately, we do not have any hidden prices. Many companies advertise low prices, but once they come into your home, they’ll change prices on you. By booking a carpet cleaning service with Sherwood Steemers, you’ll receive a no-hassle deep cleaning experience with our state-of-the-art equipment.
